Scaphism are a band from Boston, Massachusetts that plays an old school form of gore/death metal and this is a review of their album "Unutterable Horrors" which will be released in 2018 by Horror Pain Gore Death Productions.
A very heavy and brutal sound starts off the album while the music is very heavily rooted in the 90's while the vocals are mostly death metal growls and screams along with the faster sections of the songs also bringing in a great amount of blast beats as well as the riffs also bringing in a great amount of morbid sounding melodies.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the songs also sounding like thew could of easily been recorded and released more than 20 years ago and the music always remains very heavy and brutal.
Scaphism plays a style of gore/death metal that is very heavily rooted in the early 90's, the production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover horror, pain, gore and death themes.
In my opinion Scaphism are a very great sounding old school gore/death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Gruesome Unmentionables and Unutt" "Trepanate The Undesired" and "Hypovolemic Purification". 8 out of 10.
