Forte Ruin are a band from Finland that has been featured before in this zine and on this recording plays an alternative, epic and melodic form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2018 ep "Rebuilding The Machinery" which will be released on the 9th of March.
Atmospheric sounding keyboards start off the ep and also mix in with the heavier sections of the songs while the riffs also bring in a great amount of melody while the vocals bring in a mixture of screams and death metal growls as well as bringing in a great amount of clean singing.
When the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can also be heard while the solos and leads are done in a very melodic fashion along with the music also mixing in elements of hard rock and modern metal and the keyboards also gives the songs a more epic atmosphere as well as adding in touches of electronic music and prog rock and as the ep progresses clean playing can also be heard briefly.
On this recordingForte Ruin plays a style of melodic death metal that is very modern, epic and keyboard orientated, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover philosophical themes.
In my opinion this is another decent sounding recording from Forte Ruin are a very decent alternative, epic and melodic death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Rebuilding The Machinery" and "Saturation Point", 7/5 out of 10.
