Signs Of The Swarm are a band from Pennsylvania that plays a mixture of slam death metal and deathcore and this is a review of their 2017 album "The Disfigurement Of Existence" which will be released in November by Unique Leader.
Acoustic guitar playing starts off the album before going into more of a heavier direction while the faster sections of the songs also bring in a great amount of blast beats along with the riffs also adding in a decent amount of melody and the vocals are mostly deep guttural death metal growls.
A great amount of slam, deathcore and hardcore elements can also be heard in the mid tempo sections of the songs while high pitched screams are also utilized at times and spoken word parts can also be heard briefly, when guitar leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic fashion.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and on some of the tracks clean playing is utilized as well as the acoustic guitars also making a brief return as the album progresses and one of the tracks is an instrumental and synths are also ued briefly on the closing track.
Signs Of The Swarm plays a musical style that takes slam death metal and deathcore and mixes them together to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and violent themes.
In my opinion Signs Of The Swarm are a very great sounding mixture of slam death metal and deathcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Cesspool Of Ignorance" "Lifeless Visitors" "Descending Into Despair" and "Misery From Demorilization". 8 out of 10.
