The Kennedy Veil are a band from Sacremento, California and on this recording expand on their brutal and technical style of death metal by adding in black metal and symphonic elements and this is a review of their 2017 album "Imperium" which will be released on October 20th by Unique Leader Records.
A very heavy and brutal sound starts off the album along with some dark sounding melodies while symphonic elements also mix in with the heavier sections of the music along with the faster sections of the songs also bringing in a great amount of blast beats and the vocals are mostly death metal growls.
A great amount of black metal influences can be heard quite a bit throughout the recording along with a few high pitched screams while the solos and leads are also done in a very technical fashion and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and one of the tracks is very long and epic in length and some of the riffs and leads also bring in a small amount of melody and as the album progresses a brief use of spoken word parts can be heard.
On this recording The Kennedy Veil expand on their brutal and technical style of death metal by adding in symphonic black metal elements to create something very original, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Occultism themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from The Kennedy Veil and if you are a fan of technical, brutal death metal and symphonic black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Godslaughter" "Draconian" and "Seething Rot". 8 out of 10.
