Imperial Domain are a band from Sweden that plays a very melodic form of death metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "The Deluge" which will be released on August 10th by Inverse Records.
Tragic sounding keyboards start off the album while the solos and leads are done in a very melodic style along with the vocals being mostly death metal growls as well as a few screams and acoustic guitars can also be heard briefly and spoken word parts are also used on one of the tracks.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them while symphonic elements can also be heard briefly along with the tracks also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts without ever utilizing blast beats and they also bring in a classic guitard instrumental before closing the album with a heavier track.
Imperial Domain plays a style of melodic death metal that is both influenced by the modern and old school eras of the genre, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover despair, chaos, death and dreams themes.
In my opinion Imperial Domain are a very great sounding melodic death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "True Face of War" "Conspiracy" and "Ever Since That Day". 8 out of 10.
