Fear Factory/Mechanize/Candlelight Records/2010 CD Review

Fear Factory are a bsnd that has been around for a long time that is very well known and one of the pioneering bands for industrial death/thrash and this is a review of their 2010 album "Mechanize" which was released by Candlelight Records.

Drums are mostly midpaced drumming with some fast playing that does not go that much into blast beats at all except for a few ocassions, while the keyboards are very atmospheric sounding with alot of industrial samples, as for the bass playing it has a very powerful sound that dominates on alot of songs.

Rhythm guitars range from midpaced to fast death/thrash style of riffing with some more mainstream metal elements added to the riffing while the leade guitars are very distorted and melodic sounding guitar solos.

Vocals are mostly death/thrash style of growls and yells with alot of clean singing being thrown in, while the lyrics cover technology, anti-rligion, hate, society and sci-fi, as for the production it sounds very professional and all of the instruments have a very good sound to them.

In my opinion this is a good album from Fear Factory and while I have not heard or bought an album from this band since the 90's it seems like a return to form since other people have told me that there last few albums where mainstream sounding, if you are a fan of Fear Factory you should not be dissapointed. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Mechanize" "Fear Campaign" "Controlled Demolition" and "Final Exit". RECOMMENDED BUY.
