Hammer Smashed Birthday Bash IV Compilation/2012 Review

This  is  a  review  of  a  sampler  from  Hammer  Smashed  Radio,  a  radio  show  dedicated  to  death  metal and  we  will  start  of  the  review  with  Denounced   which  gives  us  the  song  "Through  Despair".

  This  song  is  a  very  brutal  and  technical  death  metal  song  which  also  combines  melodic  death  metal  with  a  great  amount  of  thrash  influences,  deep  death  metal  growls  and  high  pitched  melodic  death  metal  screams  mixed  in  with  alot  of  melodic  and  technical  sounding  guitar  solos  and  leads.

  Next  up  is  From  The  Deep  with  "The  Crows  Know  Something"  brutal  death  metal  that  mixes  deep  growls,  high  pitched  screams,  heavy  guitars  and  bass  mixed  in  with  some  melodic  sounding  guitar  solos  and  leads  as  well  as  some  soft  and  clean  playing  progressive  riffing.

  Next  up  is  Accursed  Spawn  with  "Stabbed  In  The  Dick"  a  very  brutal  sounding  death/grind  with  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats,  deep  growls  and  high  pitched  screams.

  Next  up is  Insurrection  with  "History  Repeats  Itself"   a  very  brutal  death  metal song  that  has  a  thrash  feeling  to  it  as  well  as  a  combination  of  deep  death  metal  growls  and  high  pitched  screams.

  Next  up  is  Daemon  with  "Means  Of  Extinction"  a  very  fast  and  brutal  death  metal  song  that  has  some  very  heavy  and  brutal  sounding  growls  along  with  some  talented  sounding  guitar  riffs.

  Closing  off  the  compilation  is  Immersed  with  "Transperent  Monstroties"  a  very  brutal  and  melodic  sounding  death  metal  song.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  a  great  compilation  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  style,  you  should  check  it  out.  RECOMMENDED.

 

Re-Armed/Worldwide Hypnotize/Massacre Records/2012 CD Review

  Re-Armed  are  a  band  from  Finland  that  plays  a  mixture  of  groove  metal  and  melodic  death  metal and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2012  albumm "Worldwide  Hypnotize"  which  was  released  by  Massacre  Records.

  Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  thrown  into  the  music  at  times,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  is  coming  out  of  the  guitars  and  at  times  they  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  riffs  that  combine  melodic  and  progressive  death  metal  with  groove  metal,  and  there  little  to  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording  except  for  a  couple  of  song  it  was  a  melodic  sounding  death  metal  guitar  leads.

  Vocals  are  a  mixture  of  deep  death  metal  growls  and  high  pitched  melodic  death  metal  screams  with  a  brief  spoken  word  part,  while  the  lyrics  cover  pessimism  and  society,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful,  professional  and  heavy  sound  to  it.

  In  my  opinion  Re-Armed  are  a  decent  sounding  melodic  death/groove  metal  hybrid  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  style,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Save  Yourself"  "Hoax"  "The  Bridge  That  Leads  Nowhere"  and  "Trance".  RECOMMENDED  BUY. 

Kenos/Nightrain To Samara/Club Inferno/2011 CD Review

  Kenos  are  a  band  from  Italy  that  plays  a  mixture  of  melodic  and  technical  death  metal  with  influences  from  classical,  ethnic  and  electronic  music  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2011  album  "Nightrain  To  Samara"  which  was  released  by  Club  Inferno.

  Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  a  good  amount  of  blast  beats  being  thrown  into the  music,  while  the  synths  bring  in  elements  of  classical,  ethnic  and  electronic  music  to  give  the  music  an  original  sound,  as  for  the  bass  playing  it  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow the  riffing  that  is  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

  Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  riffing  that  combines  technical  and  melodic  death  metal  with  groove  metal,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  melodic  and  technical  sounding  death  metal  guitar solos  and  leads.

  Vocals  range  from  deep  death  metal  growls,  melodic  death  metal  screams,  and  clean  singing   with  a  brief  use  of  spoken  word  parts,  while the  lyrics  cover  everyday  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful  and  professional  sound  to  it,  as  for  the  classical guitars  when  they  are  utilized  they  use  finger  picking  to  bring  a  dark  and  melodic  sound  to  the  music..

  In  my  opinion  while  I  could  do  without  the  groove  metal  parts  I  still  feel  that  Kenos  are  a  very  good  and  original  sounding  melodic  and  technical  death  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  style,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Nightrain  To  Samara"  and  "Encounter".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
