Myth Of A Life/Chimera/Sleaszy Rider Records/2017 EP Review

 

  Myth  Of  A  Life  are  a  band  from  the  United  Kingdom that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  very  melodic  form  of  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2017 ep  "Chimera"  which  was  released  by  Sleaszy  Rider  Records.

  A  very  dark  sounding  intro  starts  off  the  ep  and  also  gives  the  recording  an  atmosphere  of  a  horror  movie  before  going  into  a  very  heavy  and  melodic  direction  which  is  also  very  heavily  influenced  by  the  Swedish  style  while  spoken  word  parts  are  also  used  briefly  before  adding  in  death  metal  growls  and  screams.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  done  in  a  very  melodic  yet  chaotic  fashion  while  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  at  times  the  music  adds  in  a  touch  of  modern  extreme  metal.

  Myth  Of  A  Life  creates  another  recording  that  remains  true  to  the  melodic  death  metal  style  of  previous  releases,  the  production  sound s very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  mythological  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Myth  Of  A  Life  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  melodic  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Chimera"  and  "The  True  Face  Of  Death".  8  out  of  10.
