Drawn And Quartered are a band from Seattle, Washington that has had music reviewed and been interviewed before in this zine and plays an old school form of death metal with some black metal influences and this is a review of their 2018 album "The one Who Lurks" which will be released on July 27th by Krucyator Productions.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the album along with some grim screams a few seconds later that also add in a touch of black metal while the vocals are mostly deep death metal growls as well as the riffs also bringing in a great amount of morbid sounding melodies and the music is heavily rooted in the 90's.
When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can also be heard while the solos and leads stick to more of a dark and old school style along with the tracks also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and the music always remains very heavy.
Drawn Ans Quartered creates another recording that remains true to the dark death metal style that was established on previous releases, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover occultism, death, murder and torture themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Drawn And Quartered and if you are a fan of dark death metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Nefarious Rites" "Deliverance To The Worms" and "Portals of Communion". 8 out of 10.
