Other Eyes Wise are a band from England that plays a mixture of extreme metal, alternative and hard rock with some death metal elements and this is a review of their 2014 album "Zer(O)" which was released by WormHoleDeath Records.
The album starts out with a clean and atmospheric sound and after the intro the recording goes into a heavier direction along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them along with a mixture of clean singing and aggressive screams which also lead up to some death metal growls.
As the album progresses the music gets a lot heavier while also keeping around a great amount of melody along with a mixture of clean and heavy parts and at times black metal screams are also brought into the music and they also bring in a good mixture of clean and heavy parts.
With this album Other Eyes Wise take the more mainstream alternative metal sound and mix it in with black, death and progressive metal along with a great amount of melody to create a very creative and original sounding album.
Song lyrics cover dark and everyday themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Other Eyes Wide are a very great sounding mixture of metal, alternative and hard rock with death and black metal elements and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Almost Asleep" "You're Wrong, You're Right" "Awkward Eclipse" and "Beyond Belief". 8 out of 10,
