D.A.M are a band from Brazil that plays a very melodic form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2014 ep "Phantasmogoria".
A very heavy, melodic and technical sound starts off the album along with some neo-classical guitar leads and death metal screams that also have a black metal feeling to t hem along with some growls and symphonic sounds being utilized in the background and you can also hear a decent amount of prog elements being used in the bands musical style at times.
After awhile melodic power metal vocals are added into certain sections of the recording along with a mixture of both clean and heavy parts and the band also mixes in a great amount of traditional metal elements with their melodic death metal sound as well as always having a symphonic feeling in each of the tracks that are presented on this ep and at time s the music can get very powerful and also add in blast beats.
D.A.M takes the old school European style of melodic death metal and mixes it with power metal, neo classical and symphonic metal to create the sound that is presented on the ep, the production sounds very powerful for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover Occultism and the Dark Side Of The Mind.
In my opinion D.A.M are a very great sounding symphonic/melodic death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this e.p. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Phantasmogoria" and "End of Light". 8 out of 10.
