Maggot Twat are a band from Chicago, Illinois that plays a humorous mixture of death metal and grindcore and this is a review of their 2016 album "8 Bit Apocalypse" which will be released on December 30th by Seeing Red Records.
Horror movie style organs start off the album along with some evil laughter before going into a heavier direction and after awhile screams and death metal growls are added onto the recording and the riffs also mix in elements of thrash and video game samples can also be heard at times and the solos and leads are done in a melodic fashion.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and some songs also bring in spoken word samples and the riffs also get technical at times and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the faster sections of the songs also bring in a small amount of blast beats and keyboards can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and the vocals also use a great amount of angry shouts and they also bring in a track that is over 20 minutes in length.
Maggot Twat plays a musical style that takes death metal, thrash and grindcore and mixes them together along with some humor to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover gore, sex, and bizarre humor themes.
In my opinion Maggot Twat are a very great sounding humorous mixture of death metal, thrash, and grindcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "A Vampire Bit my Balls" "I Fucked A Train" "I Wanna get Laid" and "Fuck That Bitch". 8 out of 10.
