Amanita Virosa are a band from Finland that plays a musical style they refer to as hospital metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Asytole" which will be released in June by Inverse Records.
Classical guitars and synths start off the album and a few seconds later the music starts going into more of a heavier direction while also mixing in with the more calmer sounds and the solos and leads the band uses throughout the recording are very melodic and after the intro the music starts going into more of a fast melodic death metal direction.
Vocals use both screams and screams and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as a great amount of blast beats and the heavier parts also mix in with the more symphonic elements and all of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and you can also hear the more melodic side of deathcore in the bands musical style and some of the songs also bring in a small amount of black metal influences and the classical guitars also make a return on one of the tracks.
Amanita Virosa plays a musical style that is mostly rooted in the Finnish style of melodic death metal and they also add in symphonic elements and touches of hardcore and black metal to create their own musical style, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark, depressive and real life themes.
In my opinion Amanita Virosa are a very great sounding symphonic and melodic death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "My Slightest Hope" "Dead Inside" and "Dead Body Love". 8 out of 10.
