Cromm Cruac are a band from the Netherlands that plays a very melodic and technical form of death metal and this is a review of their 1998 album "Scenecio" which will be re-issued in June by Vic Records.
Clean guitar playing starts off the album before adding in death metal growls that also takes the music into more of a very and technical musical direction along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and the solos and the leads the band uses add a great amount of melody onto the recording.
High pitched screams can be heard in some parts of the songs and some of the tracks are also long and epic in length and acoustic guitars can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and the songs also stick to either a slow or mid paced musical direction while also speeding up a bit at times and towards the end one of the tracks also brings in a brief use of spoken word parts.
Cromm Cruach played a style of death metal on this recording that was very mid tempo, melodic and technical sounding, the production sounds very professional for the time era it was recorded while the lyrics cover dark and philosophical themes.
In my opinion Cromm Cruac are a very great sounding melodic and technical death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "A Passed Moment" "Careless" "The Pain Within" and "Down-Under". 8 out of 10.
