Illusion Of Control are a band from Romania that plays a very progressive and melodic form of death metal and this is a review of their 2018 ep "Grim New World" which was released by Loud Rage Music.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the ep along with some spoken word parts a few seconds later before adding in death metal growls while the riffs also bring in a great amount of melody along with the acoustic guitars also giving the songs more of a progressive feeling.
Clean vocals can also be heard at times while a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length along with some screams and whispers also being utilized at times as well as all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them, when guitar leads a re utilized they are done in a very melodic style and the riffs also bring in a great amount of melody and when the music finally speeds up a small amount of blast beats can be heard.
Illusion Of Control plays a style of death metal that is very melodic and progressive sounding, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover philosophical and dystopian themes.
In my opinion Illusion Of Control are a very great sounding progressive and melodic death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Downtrodden" and "Dystopia". 8 out of 10.
