Fallen Utopia are a band from Austria that plays a modern form of death metal with a touch of thrash and black metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Disequilibrium" which was released by Cursed Records.
Death metal growls along with some heavy guitar riffing starts off the album while high pitched screams are also used at times as well as the music also bringing in a mixture of both old school and modern influences and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording.
A lot of melody can be heard in the guitar riffing while the guitar leads are also done in a very melodic fashion along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and when the music speeds up a small amount of blast beats can be heard as well as some of t he songs also bringing in decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and as the album progresses a brief use of piano's and acoustic guitars can be heard on a couple of tracks before returning back to a heavier direction.
Fallen Utopia plays a musical style that takes a modern style of death metal and mixes it with elements of melodic black metal and thrash to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark, scientific and philosophical themes.
In my opinion Fallen Utopia are a very great sounding modern death metal band with elements of black and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Dr. Muller's Asylum" "Omnivore" "Macrocosm" "Blood Cult" and "From Void TO Chaos". 8 out of 10.
