Necropanther are a band from Denver, Colorado that plays a melodic and old school mixture of death and thrash metal and this is a review of their self released 2018 album "Eyes Of Blue Light" which will be released in February.
Thrash influenced riffing starts off the album along with some blast beats being added onto the recording a few seconds later while the solos and leads are done in a very melodic fashion along with the vocals being mostly screams and death metal growls and all of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the music also mixes in a great amount of 80's and 90's influences but done in a more modern fashion along with t he fast riffs also bringing in a decent amount of tremolo picking and as the album progresses a brief use of clean playing can also be heard and they close the album with an instrumental.
Necropanther plays a style of melodic death metal that is very old school along with a great amount of thrash elements, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics are based on Frank Herbert's "Dune" novel.
In my opinion Necropanther are a very great sounding melodic and old school mixture of death and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Good As Dead" "Hunter Seeker" "Water of Life" and "Strange Gods". 8 out of 10.
