Mors Subita are a band from Finland that plays a mixture of melodic death and modern thrash metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "Into The Pitch Black" which will be released in April by Inverse Records.
An acoustic guitar intro starts off the album along with a small amount of spoken word samples before going into more of a heavier and melodic musical direction which also mixes in a great amount of modern thrash elements as well as some growling vocals while the faster sections of t he songs also use a great amount of blast beats.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the solos and leads are done in a very melodic fashion along with the music also mixing in elements of groove metal as well as some songs also bringing in a small amount of spoken word parts and as the album progresses the vocals start utilizing more screams, synths and clean playing can also be heard briefly and the last track is very long and epic in length and also brings in a small amount of acoustic guitars.
Mors Subita plays a musical style that takes melodic death metal and mixes it with modern thrash to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover death, personal struggles and relationship themes.
In my opinion Mors Subita are a very decent sounding mixture of melodic death and modern thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "As Humanity Weeps" "Into The Pitch Black" "Vultures" and "The Void". 7.5 out of 10.
