NightShade are a band from France that plays a mixture of metalcore and deathcore and this is a review of their 2018 album "!426" which will be released in February by Marked Man Records.
Clean guitars start off the album along with some drums a few seconds later which also takes the music into more of a heavier direction while the vocals are hardcore style screams along with some death metal growls as well as the riffs also bringing in a decent amount of melody and shouts are also used at times.
Elements of metalcore can also be heard in the mid tempo sections of the songs while the faster sections of the songs also bring in a great amount of brutal blast beats, elements of electronic music can be heard briefly along with the guitar leads being done in a very melodic fashion as well as the riffs also bringing in a decent amount of melody and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and as the album progresses a brief use of spoken word parts and melodic vocals can also be heard and a later track also brings symphonic elements onto the recording.
NightShade plays a musical style that takes deathcore and metalcore and mixes them together to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are a concept album involving a divorce and a suicide.
In my opinion NightShade are a very decent sounding mixture of deathcore and metalcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "1426" "Purpose" "Ruins" and "Moonchild". 7/5 out of 10.
