Soul Sacrifice are a band from Turkey that plays melodic death metal with ethnic influences and this is a review of their 2012 album "Carpe Mortem" which was released by Massacre Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced drumming with not much in the way of fast playing or blast beats along with a brief use of tribal sounding percussion being utilized on one song, while the synths and ethnic instruments bring a very diverse and atmospheric sound to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they have a very powerful sound to them.
Rhythm guitars range from slow to mid paced melodic death metal riffs that utilize some influences from thrash, groove metal and hardcore along with a brief use of soft and clean playing, while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding death metal guitar solos and leads.
Vocals range from deep death metal growls, high pitched screams and clean singing, while the lyrics cover dark and violent themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound to it.
In my opinion Soul Sacrifice are a very good sounding hybrid of melodic death and groove metal and if you are a fan of this style of music, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Bullet Proof" "Keske" "Torture My Soul" and "Saecastic Existence". RECOMMENDED BUY.
