Synapses Interview

1. Can you tell us a little bit about the band for those that have never heard of you before?
-We are a Italian death metal band.

2. How would you describe your musical sound?
-The sound of SYS is a technical, modern, violent and frenetic. We try to represent the idea of today's society or the times in our modern lives: fast, frenetic, full of things to do or to fight. We want to bring sound to the ears that feeling of never being able to be happy with the ongoing process of personal evolution or general that makes us lose in fears.
Riffs stating that they come from a specific pattern almost cold, although much contorted. Very strong rhythms almost mechanical, artificial as played by a complex system, however has its particular balance.

3. What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?
-The lyrics tell of suffering precisely this human society that has no solution, in an abstract way as in a nightmare or a EXPIATION.
That's what we wanted to say with the album just released. We hope to have succeeded.

 4. What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?
-The synapses is the connection between two nerve cells or between a nerve cell and the peripheral body of reaction, which allows the transmission of nerve impulses, as the connection that allows the relationships between people, the relationship between a band and the fans or between death metal and who knows how to listen. It seemed perfect...

5. What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance?
-The SYS have had the luck of opening for Incantation or Hour of Penance, experiences that teach very much for the professional and technical aspect staff. We still have work to be 110% on stage. I remember our experience as a band Underhate, where we played in three of us for 10 years, a Tour with the another  brutal Italian band Natron or the show with Cephalic Carnage, Napalm Death,Spawn of Possession.

6. Do you have any touring plans for the future?
-We are working to play in September and October in Italy and in Europe. We'd love to go for a tour also in Australia ... who knows ...
We hope to be able to organize something soon, we need to prove who the SYS.

7. Currently you are singed to Deepsend, how did you get in contact with this label and how would you describe the support that they have given you so far?
-We sended to more labels the promo songs, for looking the interest.
Graham and Deepsend have demonstrated this interest, helping us advising a logo update style and the album design with the graphic artist Remy 'Headsplit Design'.
It helped us to mature a lot in this respect, we found this type of support.
Our record is out distributed by Red / Sony a worldwide distribution and this is good, also you can find it on all platforms that sell digital music world's most famous.
For the debut album is the best that we can think...

8. On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of brutal death metal?
-The feedbacks are good, we received congratulations for the album from Europa, South America, Indonesia, USA, Australia;
This has really impressed, for a debut album by italian death-band is good.
We hope to reach more people in the future, many deathster do not yet know who we are and what we play.

9. Are there any other projects besides this band or is this a full time line-up?
-Almost all of us we have more music in the heads:
I have written a concept album that expects to have a name and a production in which she sings the guitarist Mario Monteverde of the italian thrash band Penthagon. The result of a my experience/inspiration I had some time ago...
Giovanni Canedoli is the singer and founder of the Grind/Crust band Sick bong headquarter, the very ignorant attitude and the smoked power band.
Il Cannibale as Mister Nocturnal Disentery a grind nonsense project, where I work as an assistant production studio.

10. What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?
-The SYS on the future will be the result of a natural evolution, the concept sound will  similar and hearing the new songs we are writing, will be more groove while still remaining fast and punchy but perhaps more tasty.
We are studying different 'Synapses musical situations' so that the next production will more varied than Expiation that is extremely compact, has a single sensation.

11. What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
-I think we are influenced by so many bands that is hard to understand... definitely old school death metal from the mental approach to the song writting but the new bands, who feel, we remain impressed by the productions and technics methods of composition. I think if you listen and play death metal, you would not be contaminated by Morbid Angel, Carcass, Death ecc... the fathers of the first scene.
I'm listening in this days many Italian bands, why are so many albums released at the same time and I found there are in. Never before had happened to me, I talk about: Antrpofagus, Hour of Penance, Cadaveric Crematorium, Penthagon, Stigmhate...

12. Outside of music, what are some of your interests?
-I like living life with my wife, that I will soon become a father, my friends, to talk for hours thinking you can change the world through beer;
I'm in love of car racing in particular of Motorsport racing, wheels covers.
I follow very different scientific discoveries that are close to the creation or the end, then everything about space, stars, planets ... seduce me very.
Sez is a rhum collector and customer amateur restaurant after... gym to keep appealing to women. Kane is a very enthusiast rarity death / grind etc...Cannibale is the fanatic comics reader and '90 b-movie lover.

13. Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?
-Thanks to all the staff that makes it possible to spread the sys word and
listen, learn, taste and supported the SYNAPSES on the web or buying the album, come on!
