Die where a duo from Florida that h as been featured before in this zine with a musical style i would describe as being a progressive and melodic form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2004 demo.
The demo starts out with distorted sounds and heavy yet raw guitars and drums along with a mixture of growls and screams and after awhile melody and leads are added into the music before bringing in acoustic guitars and clean singing which also lead to more brutality and blast beats and then psychedelic synths are brought onto the demo.
As the demo continues the band stick to a more progressive death metal sound while also keeping around a good amount of melody along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and they also bring in a brief instrumental as well as some brutal moments being utilized on some of the other songs.
On this demo Die showed they had a good amount of ability to write some heavy, brutal and melodic sounding progressive death metal songs and they also progressed a lot more on the following releases.
Song lyrics cover dark and philosophical themes, while the production has a very raw and heavy sound while you can still hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording as well as some of the songs being very long and epic in length.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Die and if you are a fan of progressive death metal, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Epic Murder" and "Soft Soil". 8 out of 10.
