Formis are a band from Poland that plays a mixture a mixture of death and thrash metal and on this recording starts incorporating more black metal elements and this is a review of their 2017 album "Chaozium" which was released by Defense Records.
Heavy yet melodic riffing starts off the album along with some atmospheric sounding synths before going into a faster direction along with a great amount of blast beats while the vocals being a thrash style singing and death metal growls as well as the solos and leads are done in a very old school style.
A great amount of melody can be heard in the riffing while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them along with the songs bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some songs also bring in a small amount of acoustic guitars and when tremolo picking is utilized they bring in a touch of black metal.
On this recording Formis sticks to the old school mixture of death and thrash metal while also getting more black metal influenced this time around, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover sadness and pestilence themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding from Formis and if you are a fan of black, death and thrash metal , you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Skaven" "Epigon" and "Chaozium". 8 out of 10.
