Empatic are a band from Poland that plays a mixture of melodic death metal, thrash and groove metal and this is a review of their 2010 album "Gods Of Thousand Souls" which was released by Wydawnicto Muzyczne Psycho.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being thrown into the music at times, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful tone with riffs that dominate throughout the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine melodic death metal, groove and thrash metal together with some technical riffing being used at times along with a brief use of clean and soft playing being used for a few seconds on one song, while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding guitar solos and leads, as for the acoustic guitars which are only utilized briefly on one song they use finger picking to bring a very dark and exotic sound to the music.
Vocals range from deep death metal growls, groove metal type vocals and high pitched melodic death metal screams as well as some spoken word parts, while the lyrics cover everyday themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Empatic are a very good sounding melodic death/thrash/groove metal hybrid and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Green Mile" "False Friend" "So What?" and "Enola Gay" which is an OMD cover. RECOMMENDED BUY.
