Sphere are a band from Poland that plays a very heavy, extreme, brutal and melodic form of death metal with a grindcore edge and this is a review of their 2012 album "Homo Hereticis" which was released by Masterful Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful tone with some brutal death metal riffing that dominates throughout the recording, as for the sound effects that are used before the songs that bring a very dark occult feeling to the music.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast death metal riffs that are very heavy and brutal sounding with a great amount of melodic and technical parts being thrown into the riffing as well as some thrash and grindcore influences, while the lead guitars are very chaotic and technical sounding death metal guitar solos and leads with some melody and a great amount of talent and skill.
Vocals range from deep death metal growls, high pitched screams and some deathcore/grind type of vocals being thrown in briefly, while the lyrics cover Spiritualism, Damnation, and Hatred, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Sphere are a very great and original sounding heavy, brutal and melodic death metal band with a grindcore edge and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Godless Profanity" "Homo Hereticis" "Psalm To The Dark One" and "war". RECOMMENDED BUY.
