Chariots Of The Gods/Tides Of War/2012 CD Review

Chariots  Of  The  Gods  are  a  band  from  Ontario,  Canada  that  plays  a  mixture  of  deathcore,  melodic  death  metal  and  thrash  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  album  "Tides  Of  War"  which  will  be  released  in  2013.

Drums range  from s low,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  strong  and  powerful  sound  with  heavy  riffing  that  dominates  throughout  the  recording,  as  for the  synths  which  are  only  briefly  they  add  an  atmospheric sound  to  the  soft  and  melodic  parts  of  the  music.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  riffs  that  combine  deathcore,  melodic  death  metal,  and  thrash  together to create  a  sound  of their  own  as  well  as  a  brief  use  of  soft  and  clean  playing,  while the  lead  guitars  are  very  melodic  sounding  guitar  solos  and  leads  that h ave  a  classic  metal  feeling  to  them,  as  for  the  acoustic  guitars  when  they  are  utilized  they  use  finger  picking  and  full  chords  to  add  more  variety  to  the  music.

Vocals range  from  hardcore  style  shouts, thrash  style  vocals,  deep  death  metal  growls  and  high  pitched  screams,  while t he  lyrics  cover  war,  mythology,  scientific  and  philosophical themes,  as  for the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful,  heavy  and  professional  sound  for  being  a  self  released  recording  and  you  can  hear  all  of t he musical  instruments  that  are  present  on this  recording.

In  my  opinion  Chariots  Of  The  Gods  are  a  very  great  sounding  hybrid  of  thrash,  deathcore  and  melodic  death  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of t his  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Seventh  Weapon"  "Severing  The  Bloodline"  "nebula" and  "Unbound".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
