Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?
Hello Everyone! This is Sandor here from Gutted. We are working on our 4th album which will be released by the Canadian Extreme Metal Label PRC Music during the next spring. We have 3 totally complete songs and working on the 4th one currently which will be finished soon. The band is now has only 2 members, the guitarist Gabor and me on vocals. The whole album will be written by us. We are looking for members right now who will play on the record but the writing process of the songs will be done by us only.
How would you describe the musical sound of the new ep and how it differs from previous releases?
The main difference between this EP and the old releases is the writing method because this EP was written by us and the old ones were written by a complete band. Our ex-drummer did a huge work with the old songs but he is not with us anymore so the difference is obvious. The new songs are more catchy and straight than the old ones. You don’t need to spend a whole life to understand them. J But they are still brutal and complex but not that way as they were in past.
What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the new release?
I’m writing all of our lyrics so I can give you a very clear picture about it. J All the lyrics will have a very dark, deep and desperate feeling which dwells deep inside me. I’ve been trhu a lot of hard times in the past few years because I had a cerebral aneurysm by which I almost died. During that time I experienced things that never happened before to me and I will write down those dark things in my lyrics for the 4th Gutted album. Not the same things of course but the feelings of that time which worked in me.
I know that the band was named after a Cannibal Corpse song, have you heard the other bands that use the same name?
As far as I know we are the only band using this name nowadays. According to Metal Archives there were two bands which used this name but they are not active anymore. I listened to the Gutted from US they played a very good old school death metal.
5.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance?
We’ve played many gigs so far. It is hard to pick only some. I think all shows had their own feelings and it is good be on stage with our set even if the audience is not that big. Doesn’t matter how many fans standing before the stage we must play our set as good as we can. There is no extra show element during our gigs only us playing our shit. J All of our shows are very intensive. Don’t expect anything else than pure death metal brutality. J
Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?
Unfortunately we’ve played nothing since the beginning of 2011 so the plan is to play a lot after the album will be released. We have plans. We are contacted with the Hungarian Metal Label Terranis Productions and its owner organizes gigs abroad so we will work something out together. J We have only one gig booked at the moment in Wien on 7th of December on Rape The Escape Fest. This will be our 1st show in Austria ever. Can’t wait!
On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to the newer music by fans of death metal?
They really like it! We surprised by the reactions to the new EP! We knew that the new songs are killer but never dreamed such a huge support from the zines! Thanks!
What is going on with the other musical projects these days?
I have 2 working bands beside Gutted. You can check them out here:

9.What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?
On Path of a New Era we created something different so it will be the same on the next album. After that I can’t tell. J It is hard to say anything about the future releases. One thing is sure: our 4th album will be released next year and the style will be the same as on the EP.
10.What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your newer music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
We are influenced by lot of things not only music. Life itself is the bigger influence. What we can see, hear on the news, streets make us write this music. Humans will always give us topics which we can write about. J
We are listening to a huge amount of styles in the metal genre. Hard to list them here…
What a really like is the old death metal stuff like Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Sepultura (1st 2 release only!), Suffocation, Possessed, Autopsy, Entombed, Dismember and line would be endless. J
From the new releases I really like the latest Cattle Decapitation which is killer!
11.Outside of music what are some of your interests?
I’m a proud father of a 3 years old beautiful girl so I have no time for any other activities. My family, workplace and the bands are filling my life. But I really like the good movies, good music, good biers, football.
12.Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?
Thanks for the support and the opportunity! Have luck with your zine! Check out our facebook page and our official webpage for the news here:
