Gravesite are a band from Italy that has been featured before in this zine and plays a horror influenced style of death metal and this is a review of their 2017 album 'Neverending Trail Of Skulls" which was released by Xtreem Music.
Acoustic guitar playing starts off the album before going into a very fast musical direction t hat also uses a great amount of blast beats along with some grindcore elements while the vocals are mostly death metal growls as well as the music being very heavily rooted in the early 90's era.
A decent amount of dark sounding melodies can be heard in the guitar riffing while the solos and leads remain very true to an old school style and throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the music also mixes in a decent amount of Swedish and English influences and when keyboards are used briefly they bring in the atmosphere of a horror movie and one track also adds in samples, clean guitars are also added onto the closing track.
Gravesite remains true to the horror movie inspired death metal style of previous releases, the production sounds very old school yet professional at the same time while the lyrics cover horror themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Gravesite and if you are a fan of horror influenced death metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Neverending Trail Of Skulls" "Global Disease Madness" and "Swallowed In Darkness". 8 out of 10.
