I Spit Ashes are a band from Germany that plays a very melodic form of death metal mixed in with some modern day thrash elements and this is a review of their 2012 album "Inhaling Blackness...Inhaling Light" which was released by Massacre Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being thrown into the music at times, while the synths when they are utilized bring a very atmospheric and industrial sound to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine melodic death metal with modern day thrash metal, while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding guitar solos and leads that utilize some traditional metal elements, as for the acoustic guitars which are only used briefly they use full chords and finger picking to bring in more sorrow to the music.
Vocals range from high pitched melodic death metal screams, deep growls and a brief use of clean singing and samples, while the lyrics cover apocalyptic themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound to it.
In my opinion I Spit Ashes are a very great sounding hybrid of melodic death metal and modern day thrash and if you are a fan of this musical style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Missper" "Crossing The Borderline" "Towards The Sun" and "When Daylight Dies". RECOMMENDED BUY.
