Avulsed are a band from Spain that has been featured before in this zine and plays a brutal form of gore/death metal and this is a review of their 2016 compilation album "Deathgeneration" which was released by Xtreem Music.
A very heavy sound starts off the album and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and the solos and leads are done in a very melodic fashion and after awhile deep guttural death metal growls make their presence known and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the riffs also bring in a small amount of melody and screams can also be heard in some of the tracks and the first 18 songs all have a different vocalist with most of them being from very well known death metal bands and some of the older tracks bring in elements of grindcore and one track is all instrumental and a couple of songs also bring in a brief use of atmospheric sounds.
Avulsed brings in a great mixture of both new material and old material that always remains true to their death metal style while some of the newer material adds in more of a touch of the more modern and brutal style, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover death, gore, mutilation, sex, and perversion themes.
In my opinion this is a very great sounding collection of music from Avulsed and if you are a fan of this band, you should check out this compilation. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sweet Lobotomy" "Powdered Flesh" "Devourer Of The Dead" and "Horrified By Repulsion". 8 out of 10.
