Red Hills are a band from Ukraine that plays a very melodic form of death metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Pleasure Of Violence" which was released by Total Metal Records.
A very melodic death metal sound starts off the album along with some growls and screams as well as a good amount of guitar leads and they also bring in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and at times you can also hear some classic metal influences being thrown into the guitar leads.
The bands music is more rooted in the 90's style of Swedish death metal and stays away from the more modern elements that have watered down the genre over the years and after awhile blast beats can be heard in certain sections of the recording and at times the band also brings in thrash metal influences and they close the album with an instrumental.
Red Hills plays an old school style of melodic death metal that is very heavy yet catchy at the same time and while it is not very original sounding the songs are still very well executed, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover hateful and real life themes.
In my opinion Red Hills are a very great sounding melodic death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Hard to be A Good Man" "Bitch" and "Lies About heaven". 8 out of 10.
