Bloodsoaked are a band from North Carolina that has been featured before in this zine and plays a very heavy and brutal form of death metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Religious Apocalypse" which will be released in September by Comatose Music and contains a mixture of new songs, cover tunes and live tracks.
A very fast, heavy and brutal sound starts off the album along with some blast beats and a few seconds alter death metal growls are added into the music and the band also brings an old school feeling into their brutal sound and after awhile the music starts bringing in a mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
The 3 new tracks display a very brutal style of death metal and they also add in some high pitched screams at times and then they go into a couple of Cinderella and Ratt covers and they sound close to the original versions but in a more death metal manner and with growling vocals instead of the melodic vocals that the original versions had.
On the live tracks the music returns back to a more brutal style of death metal along with a more raw feeling that was presented on the regular versions of these tracks and you can also hear some melodies in t heir music at times and they avoid solos and leads to focus more on a brutal sound.
Bloodsoaked on the new tracks remain true to their brutal death metal sound on t he new tracks while they take the hair metal covers and add a death metal twist to them while the live tracks display a more brutal sound of their musical sound, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover violent, anti religion and gore themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Bloodsoaked and if you are a fan of this band, you should enjoy this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Abomination" "Shake Me" "Suicide" and "No God". 8 out of 10.
