The Passion Of Our Souls are a band from Finland that plays a melodic form of death metal with elements of pop music and this is a review of their self released 2015 ep "Soulmates" which will be released in March.
A very heavy sound along with some growls and powerful sounding bass guitars start off the ep along with a good amount of high pitched screams and melody and a few seconds later clean singing female vocals are added onto the recording and they also add in elements of pop rock and the music also brings in a very modern approach to extreme metal at times.
Most of the music sticks to mostly a slow to mid paced musical direction and when guitar leads and solos are added into some of the songs they remain true to the melodic death metal style of the bands musical style which also mixes in modern influences in with some of the more 90's Finnish and Swedish style of this genre at times and they also bring in a small amount of clean playing on one of the tracks.
The Passion Of Our Souls plays a style of death metal that is very melodic and heavy while also adding in some elements of modern pop rock, the production sound s very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover dark and real life themes.
In my opinion The Passion Of Our Souls are a very great sounding pop orientated melodic death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Give Me Your Soul" and "What Tomorrow brings". 8 out of 10.
