Voice Of the Soul are a band originally from Kuwait but now reside in the United Arab Emirates and plays a melodic form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2015 album "Catacombs" which will be released in March.
Clean acoustic guitar playing and atmospheric sounds start off the album and after the intro the music starts going for more of a heavy and melodic death metal sound while the clean and symphonic parts also returning in certain sections of the recording and after awhile deep death metal growls become of a huge part of the recording and they also bring in high pitched screams at times.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and at times clean singing can be heard briefly in some of the tracks and the musical style goes for more of a modern approach to extreme metal and the solos and leads the band uses remain true to a melodic death metal tradition and the songs also bring in a touch of prog metal at times.and the band also bring in a few tracks that are long and epic in length and they also bring in a brief instrumental track while the remaining songs have vocals which also shows the band also adding in a small amount of blast beats.
Voice Of the Soul plays a style of melodic death metal that is very modern and also brings in a lot of prog and symphonic elements to create a sound of their own and they also have a very dark and heavy sound to them, the production sounds very dark yet professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover dark and philosophical themes.
In my opinion Voice Of The Soul are a very great sounding melodic and progressive death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Pendulum" "The Mist" and "Images Subside". 8 out of 10.
