Devast are a band originally from Algeria but know resides in Argentina and plays a very technical and brutal form of death/gore metal and this a review of their 2015 album "Into Decimated Reality" which was released by Grind House Productions.
Dark sound effects which also return later on during the recording start off the album along with some human torture noises and after the intro the music goes for a very fast, brutal and technical death metal direction along with some guttural growls and you can also hear a small amount of melody in their music at times and the solos and leads also remain true to a technical direction.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and the songs also have more of a modern brutal death metal sound to them and some of the tracks also bring in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and at times the vocals bring in elements of deathcore and gore/grind which can be annoying at times while the talent and brutality of the guitars and drums make up for it.
Devast plays a style of death metal that is very modern, brutal and technical sounding and while I do not like some of the vocals the band uses I still think the instruments and brutality make the music sound interesting, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics covet death, termination and extinction themes.
In my opinion Devast are a very decent sounding technical and brutal death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Physical And Mental Affliction" "Dismembered Alive With Extreme Vice" and "Humans Pushed to Commit Mass Genocide". 7 out of 10.
