1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?
We are NilExistence, a band born from the ashes of our other band Disfigured Dead. We are from Moravia, NY and we're here to bring the pain!
2.Recently you have released a promo, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording?
I would say aggressive and mixed with many emotions and feels.
3.The band formed from the ashes of 'Disfigured Dead', what was the decision behind disbanding the old band and starting this new project?
Well at the start of Disfigured Dead we were really going for the old school approach and as we went on we evolved more and more into something that was just way away from what we started as, so we decided to go with a name that we thought just fit the new approach better and we just thought we were to far away from what we thought Disfigured Dead was to us.
4.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?
We explore the nothingness of life and all the topics that lie within the nothingness that we feel is life.
5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'NilExistence'?
Well to me it means pretty much just what it says nonexistent existence which goes along with what I was saying our lyric topics were about which in a nutshell is that everything is nothing.
6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?
We haven't actually played a show under the new name but we played with Nile and we've played with Exhumed before and its always cool playing with bands that influence you and that you've grown up on. As for describing our stage performance I guess you'll have to just check us out after the albums released.
7.Do you have any touring or show plans once the new album is released?
We're hoping to really get out there and play quite a few shows once we get the ball rolling with the new album and hopefully touring but we'll see what the future brings.
8.Is the new album going to be released with the support of a label or are the band members going for the DIY approach to releasing the recording?
Well once the album gets mixed and mastered in March we are going to be sending it around to see if we can get any labels interest in putting it out so I guess that's just another thing that we'll have to see what the future brings.
9.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of brutal death metal that have heard it so far?
I would say that just from the few reviews we have gotten from the promo the feedback has been positive and people seem to like it.
10.When can we expect the new album to be released?
I would say hopefully within a year from now but we will be releasing videos of the making of the album and shooting a music video and play throughs before it will be released so that everyone will get to hear the crushing hammer that is NilExistence.
11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
We have many influences but to name a few I would say the band Hate, Decapitated, Nile, Behemoth and as for musical styles we really trying just listening to as much as we can and just learn all the little things that the different metal/rock genres have to bring and just use them in our own ways. Music nowadays we have been listening to Aborted- The Necrotic Manifesto, Hideous Divinity- Cobra Verde, Beneath- The Barren Throne, Behemoth- The Satanist, Decapitated-Blood Mantra, Black Crown Initiate- The Wreckage Of Stars, Hour Of Penance- Regicide, Krimh- Krimhera, Septicflesh- Titan, Soen- Tellurian and I'm patiently
waiting for my preorder for the new Hate- Crusade: Zero cd to come in!
12.What are some of your non musical interests?
Me (Dave) I personally like to workout and golf but other than that I'm either playing death metal or listening to music ha.
13.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
I would just like to tell everyone to check out our www.facebook.com/nilexistenceofficial page and just lookout for our upcoming videos and hopefully sooner than later our album release and thanks to anyone who reads this interview and I hope to see you on the road!!!
