Kerangkenk are a band from Indonesia that plays a very brutal form of death/gore metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Onslaught Of Psychopath" which was released by Rantai Production.
Dark sound effects start off the album before going into more of a fast and brutal direction that utilizes a great amount of blast beats along with some growls that can be very dark and guttural at times and the songs bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and they also bring in solos and leads that are rooted in a 90's style of death metal/
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and at times both the riffs and solos bring in a decent amount of melody and the songs also focus more on a 90's style of brutal death metal that is more heavily influenced by the East Coast and Florida U.S. bands of that era while some of the riffing also has a thrash feeling at times and towards the end the end brings in an instrumental that would fit on a horror movie sound track before closing the album with a very heavy track.
Kerangkenk plays a style of brutal death metal that is more rooted in the 90's style and shows that death metal can still be very brutal without having to resort to the modern elements, the production sound s very professional while the lyrics cover Inhumanity, Suffering, and Greed.
In my opinion Kerangkenk are a very great sounding brutal gore/death metal band and if you are a fan of t his musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Psychoneurosis" "Venomous.. Suicide Victim" and "Welcome To The Rot/End/Gore". 8 out of 10.
