Devangelic are a band from Rome, Italy that plays a blasphemous and gory form of brutal death metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Resurrection Denied" which was released by Comatose Music.
A very fast, heavy and brutal sound starts off the album along with some growls and some mid paced slam elements being mixed in with the music and the band also brings in a great amount of blast beats and some of the more old school east coast brutal death metal sound into their music along with a style that is in between technical and simple.
Most of the following tracks stick to the same sound with the music not having much in variety and sometimes it gets very repetitive but the music does keep a heavy and brutal sound form beginning to end and adding in small amounts of melody in certain parts of the recording and on some of the later tracks the band starts adding slow sections at time s while the main focus is still on the mid paced and fast parts and on some of the later tracks there are a small amount of samples.
Devangelic play a style that has been done plenty of times before mixing brutal and slam death metal together with no guitar solos or leads and while the music is not very original sounding the music is still played very well and I can see a lot of people into this genre enjoying the album, the production is very professional sounding and the lyrics which are the strongest part of the record cover blasphemous and anti christian themes in a gory manner.
In my opinion Devangelic are a very decent sounding brutal death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Eucharistic Savagery" "Entombment Of Mutilated Angels" "Desecrate the Crucifix" and "Devouring the Consecrated". 7/5 out of 10.
