This is a review of another recording from Afterbirth which shows them continuing the slam death metal style of previous recordings and the demo was self released in 2014.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the ep along with some blast beats and guttural growls and after awhile the music starts to get more technical along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and in the slower parts you can really hear the slam side of the band kicking in and the band also have a very melodic side to them at times while brutality always remains the main focus of the bands musical style.
Most of the music sticks to mostly a slow to mid paced direction while the band also has its fast moments and you can hear the band members have grown a lot as musicians over the years and also bring in the more modern brutal style instead of rehashing the same stuff from the past as well as keeping everything very heavy and brutal from beginning to end of the recording.
Afterbirth show a great amount of progress on this demo showing that while they are veterans they can keep up with the younger bands when it comes to brutality and they also add more of a technical, progressive and melodic approach to their musical style, the production sounds very powerful for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover gore and horror themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Afterbirth and if you are a fan of this band, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Vomit On Humanity" and "Maggots In Her Smile". 8 out of 10.
