See Through Secrecy are a band from Canada that plays a mixture of melodic death metal and metalcore and this is a review of their self released 2014 ep "The Voice Inside".
A very heavy sound starts off the ep along with some clean singing female vocals and melodic guitar leads before adding in growling vocals which takes the music more into a heavier direction that also shows that mixing metalcore with melodic death metal while also keeping around the clean singing vocals.
Clean playing and acoustic guitars can be heard in certain sections of the recording along with the music also getting more fast at times with a touch of thrash influences and adding blast beats into the mix while the music also focuses a great deal on the metal/deathcore breakdowns while the main focus is more on a mid paced melodic death metal sound.
See Through Secrecy takes a very melodic style of death metal and adds in a heavy metalcore influence as well as a decent amount of melodic singing to create their musical style and while this is not something I listen to regularly I still feel this band is very good at what they do, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover a dark and realistic subject matter.
In my opinion See Through Secrecy are a very decent sounding mixture of melodic death metal and metalcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "In Your Memory" and "Empty Handed". 7/5 out of 10.
