Calm Hatchery are a band from Poland that has been featured before in this zine and continues their brutal death metal sound on this recording and this is a review of their 2014 album "Fading Reliefs" which will be released in October by Selfmadegod Records.
Dark and ritualistic sound effects start off the album before going into more of a death metal direction along with some melodic leads and riffing and a few seconds alter blast beats and growls are added into the music along with a small amount of screams and at times you can hear some clean playing in certain sections of the recording.
When angry shouts are added into the music they give the album more of an occult atmosphere and the music gets more technical and brutal as time goes on by and at time s the music also has a slight black metal feeling to the song structures, on some of the later tracks the music starts to bring in elements of Hindi music along with some acoustic guitars as well as a long and epic in length which also adds more of an esoteric, exotic and metaphysical atmosphere to the bands brutal death metal sound.
Calm Hatchery continue their brutal approach to death metal on this recording as well as being more melodic and technical this time around as well as adding in elements of ethic music into their musical sound, the production sound s very professional while the lyrics are written in a mixture of English and Polish and cover Eastern Philosophy themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Calm Hatchery and if you are a fan of this band, you should enjoy this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sun of God" "Blessing Of Mantra" "The Eternal Cycle" and "Into the Midst of Nothingness". 8 out of 10.
