Stormhold are a band from Belarus that plays a melodic form of death metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "The Lost World" which was released by Total Metal Records.
Drum beats and symphonic sounds start off the album before going into more of a heavy and melodic musical direction along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and after awhile the music starts to speed up a bit add in blast beats and a mixture of growls and screams.
There is a good mixture of symphonic and heavy parts throughout the recording and the solos and leads the band uses are very melodic sounding and there is also a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts throughout the recording and some of the heavier riffing the band uses have a prog metal feeling to them at times.
And after awhile clean singing can be heard in certain sections of the recording along with the bass guitars bringing in elements of funk music and after awhile you can hear elements of thrash metal in the faster sections of the bands musical style as well as influences from the 90's being mixed in with a more modern musical style and on the bonus track clean playing is added into the music.
Stormhold plays a very melodic style of death metal that also incorporates symphonic elements as well as a mixture of both old school and modern influences to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover futuristic themes.
In my opinion Stormhold are a very great sounding melodic death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Wind Of Freedom" "The Understanding Of Truth" and "Inside My Mind". 8 out of 10.
