Aghast! are a band from the United Kingdom that plays a very brutal form of death metal with elements of thrash and grindcore and this is a review of their 2014 album "All The Rage".
Dark sound effects start off the album along with some before going into a brutal death metal direction along with some growls and blast beats and you can also hear elements of thrash and groove metal in their musical sound and the band also brings in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
You can hear a great amount of melody in the bands musical sound and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and at times you can hear clean playing being utilized in certain sections of the recording along with a small amount of melodic clean vocals and after awhile the vocals also start using more screams and groove metal elements mixed in with the growls as the album progresses.
You can hear the brutality of grindcore being mixed in with the faster sections at times whic also bring in a touch of melodic death metal and some of the later tracks also bring in a small amount of spoken word samples and all of the tracks have a very modern and brutal approach to extreme metal.
Aghast! takes a very brutal style of death metal that has a heavy grindcore influence and they mix in more of elements of thrash and groove along with a good amount of melody to add something new to this musical genre, the production sound s very professional for being a self release d recording while the lyrics cover violent and real life themes with a touch of Satanism.
In my opinion Aghast are a very great sounding mixture of brutal death metal, grind and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "All The Rage" "It's your Funeral" "Hells Bells(And Buckets of Blood)" and "Noise Pollution". 8 out of 10.
