Carbonized where a band from Sweden that played death metal with elements of progressive music and grindcore and this is a review of their 1991 album "For The Security" which will be re-issued in April by Vic Records.
A very dark and heavy death metal sound starts off the album along with some growls a few seconds later and the music also has a very raw feeling to the songs and after awhile the music gets more brutal with blast beats and high pitched screams being added onto the recording along with a touch of grindcore.
Throughout the recording there is a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and as the album progresses some of the songs also start adding in more elements of progressive music along with a small amount of clean playing being utilized at times and there are no guitar solos or leads present anywhere on the recording.
Carbonized had a different approach to death metal than most of their counterparts in Sweden back in the day and they also mixed in a lot of progressive and grindcore elements which also gave the music more of an original sound, the production sounds very professional for the era it was recorded while the lyrics cover death, abstract and occult themes.
In my opinion Carbonized where a very great sounding mixture of death metal, progressive music and grindcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Hypnotic Aim" "Syndrome" "Purified" and "Monument". 8 out of 10.
