Nervous Impulse are a band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada that plays a brutal mixture of death metal and grindcore and this is a review of their 2015 album "Time To Panic" which was released by Blast Head Records.
Spoken word samples start off the album and after the intro the music starts going for more of a brutal grindcore direction along with a great amount of blast beats as well as a decent mixture of growls and screams and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and you can also hear a small amount of melody in the riffs.
At time s the music has a slam death metal feeling and the growls can be very guttural at times and after awhile the music starts incorporating more old school grindcore elements and some of the songs also use a small amount of guitar solos and leads and they close the album with a cover of Agrophobic Nosebleed's "Vexed".
Nervous Impulse takes a very guttural, slamming and brutal style of death metal and mixes it with grindcore to create a sound of their own, th e production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover violent and hateful themes.
In my opinion Nervous Impulse are a very great sounding brutal mixture of death metal and grindcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Oil Spills" "Wing Clipper" "My Right To Medicate" and "Vexed". 8 out of 10.
