Countless Skies are a band from the United Kingdom that plays a very melodic form of death metal and this is a review of their self title d and self released 2014 ep.
Dark sounding keyboards start off the ep before adding in heavier guitars and melodic guitar leads and after awhile death metal growls are added into the music with also keeps around the atmospheric elements and also adds in elements of prog metal and clean singing vocals in certain sections of the recording
Most of the tracks are very long and epic in length and you can also hear a small amount of spoken word parts at times along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and the solos and leads the bands uses also remain true to a melodic death metal direction and the songs also stick to a mid paced direction while some songs also bring in a small amount of acoustic guitars.
Countless Skies plays a style of death metal that is very melodic, atmospheric and progressive, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Countless Skies are a very great sounding melodic and progressive death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Ethereal" and "Everlast". 8 out of 10.
