Vehemence are a band from Arizona that plays a melodic form of death metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Forward Without Motion" which was released by battleground Records.
Heavy guitar riffs and melodic guitar leads start off the album and after a few seconds the music goes into a faster direction along with a great amount of blast beats and once death metal growls and screams are added into the music the songs start bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
A great portion of the tracks are very long and epic in length and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the music also gets very technical at times and the music also brings back a bit of the mid 90's melodic death metal sound while also taking it into more of a brutal direction and there is also a brief use of acoustic guitars and as the album progresses some elements of modern prog metal can be heard along with a brief use of spoken word samples while later tracks also bring in a small amount of clean playing.
Vehemence plays a style of death metal that is very melodic and technical while also have a brutal edge to them, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark, anti religion, death and struggle themes.
In my opinion Vehemence are a very great sounding brutal and melodic death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Imaging The Loss" "In The Shadows We Dwell" "A Dark Figure In The Existence" and "There Are So Many Reasons To Give Up On Religion". 8 out of 10.
