Arreat Summit are a band from Sweden that plays a mixture of technical death metal and deathcore and this is a review of their 2015 ep "Frostburn" which was released by World Vs. Cometh.
A very heavy, melodic and technical sound starts off the album which also leads up to a very fast and brutal musical direction that also uses a great amount of blast beats as well as a great mixture of high pitched screams and death metal growls and all of the instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with a great amount of deathcore style breakdowns and the whole ep always remains heavy, melodic and brutal form beginning to ending of the recording.
Arreat Summit plays a musical style that takes a very melodic, technical and brutal style of death metal and mixes it with deathcore to create 2 very heavy songs that would appeal to the modern metal crowd, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Arreat Summit are a very great sounding mixture of technical death metal and deathcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Underlife". 8 out of 10.
