Blood Rainbow are a band from Hungary that plays a very brutal and melodic form of death metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Upheaval" which was released by Neverheard Distro.
Tribal style beats along with some ethnic style folk instruments start off the album as well as some acoustic guitars and after the intro nature sounds are also used briefly while melodic guitar leads are also added onto the recording and after awhile death metal growls start to make their presence known.
All of t he musical instruments on the recording h ave a very powerful sound to them and after awhile the music starts going into a heavier direction which also brings in a great amount of 90's influences while screams are also used at times and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard.
When saxophones and trombones are utilized they give the songs more of a progressive feeling and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the music also getting more brutal as the album progresses and at times the vocals also have a semi melodic tone to them and a couple of the tracks are very long and epic along with clean playing also being utilized briefly.
Blood Rainbow plays a musical style that takes both the brutal and melodic styles of death metal and mix them together while also adding in some experimental touches to create something original, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Ancient Times and Violence themes.
In my opinion Blood Rainbow are a very great sounding and original brutal melodic death metal band and if you are looking for something different, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Outcast From Eden" "Stalingard" and "Conquistadors". 8 out of 10.
