Brutal are a band from New York that has a history that goes back 20 years with a music style that is fast and brutal grindcore and this is a review of their 2011 album "End Time" which was released by Relapse Records.
Drums range from slow, midpaced to fast drumming with alot of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown in, while the bass playing a very has very strong and powerful tone with some noisy grinding riffing.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, midpaced to fast grindcore riffing that also utilizes alot of noisy sounding distortion and the brutality of the early efforts is missing from t his recording and the music has more of an experimental vibe and there are little to no lead guitars or solos present on this recording.
Vocals are a mixture of deep growls and high pitched screams with some spoken word passages being used at times, while the lyrics cover hateful and everyday themes, as for the production it has a very powerful and heavy sound.
In my opinion while I prefer Brutal Truth's earlier material I still feel this is a good album and if you are a fan 9of their past efforts, you will not be dissapointed. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Fuck Cancer" "Crawling Man Blues" "Warm Embrace Of Poverty" and "Killing Planet Earth". RECEMMONDED BUY.
